we saw a pride of lions ,up close!

Meremi,see map,is on edge of Okavango.it is mainly dry at present,with a few waterholes,which concentrate the game,and the predators

We saw lots of elephants,zebra,antelopes,hippos and wildebeast.

Moseos,a guide and driver,seated in photo,was very good.he owns the company,he started  last year,after working as a guide for 10 years

The team was lead by "Captain"'always cheerful.again the tents were errected for us,bush loo and shower set up,dinner at night ,next to campfire,hurricane lamps,cold wine in pewter goblets.all very nice

There are low islands scattered through the delta,dry at this time of year,with areas of trees and plains.
This large baobab tree was impressive.It is in an elephant war as the elephants strip its bark to eat
one walk we were busy watching this warthog,when this elephant came out of trees and charged us,briefly, till we had run and got out of his zone!

The boat was great for wildlife viewing So much gam,particularly elephants...we got close to elephants and crocodiles,close enough to hippos,and also saw giraffes,zebra,antelopeand warthogs.
Also many many birds

OKAVANGO DELTA BOAT SAFARI,30 oct-2nov,2013

this was so good.we saw so much wildlife,and up close. 4 days and 3 nights
alex was our guide and boat driver.a separate boat,under the command of Captain,carried all the gear.
the trip was fully catered.the team put up our tents,cooked the meals,and erected bush loo and bush shower.dinners were served at night,under the stars,with cold wine.Hurricane lights and campfire were kept alight at night to deter the wildlife!
day one was a long trip up river to our camp,called delta 3.just us.on the way alec had our boat flying over the still water,around river bends,but slowing for shallows,and slowing,and stopping for wildlife.

we spent 2 nights here.during the days we did day walks on dryland islands,trips on our boat,and on 3rd day we did a mokoro trip,&we moved back down river to a different camp for third night.
